About

Practice automation,
built by operators.

HIPAA Agents is built by the people who run the operations it automates. Every agent on this site started as a problem in a working clinic, not a slide in a deck.

That is the whole differentiation. It is not a lab. It is not a consultancy. It is not a venture-funded platform that picked healthcare as a vertical.

Where this came from

Three frustrations.
Three products.

The first one was documentation.

A physician was paying roughly $170 a month in the first year for Dragon, counting the $525 onboarding fee and a $400 microphone, and still spending 10 to 15 minutes per note turning a wall of transcript into a structured chart entry with codes attached. The transcription was never the problem. Everything after it was.

That became HIPAA Dictate. Audio transcribes on the phone and never leaves it. What comes back is a finished note with ICD-10 codes, CPT suggestions and a gap check, not a paragraph to reformat. It shipped to the App Store in March 2026 at $49 a month.

The second one was billing.

Reading 47,000 claim lines out of a live practice makes something obvious that no EHR dashboard will tell you. The report you get shows what you billed. Nothing shows what you lost. Denials cluster by payer and by code. Claims age past the filing window. Contracted rates get underpaid quietly, month after month, and nobody runs the query that would catch it.

That became Billing Intelligence. It is a knowledge layer on top of the billing you already have. It does not replace your biller and it does not ask you to switch anything.

The third one was not a product.

It was a list of things staff were doing by hand that software should have been doing instead. Asking every patient for a review. Chasing the ones who had lapsed. Retyping intake forms off paper. Watching a competitor outrank the practice on the exact search a patient uses to find care.

Each of those got automated one at a time, against the same EHR connection, and the collection of them became the platform. Six agents now, not two.

In production

Running every day. Not a pilot.

Every agent described on this site runs against a live electronic health record today. One automated sweep processed 143 encounters. 234 digital intakes have gone through the queue. Search impressions went from 19,000 to 48,000 over twelve months while average position moved from 30 to 10.1. Dictation to a structured, coded note takes under 60 seconds.

Every figure above is verifiable on a call.

To be clear

What this is not.

It is not an electronic health record and it is not trying to become one. It is not a billing company. It is not a marketing agency that added an AI page.

It is a set of agents that connect to the record system you already pay for and do specific jobs that currently consume staff hours. Each one takes a task, not a judgment. A physician still signs the note. A biller still works the claims. The front desk still greets patients. What changes is how much of the day goes to work a machine should have been doing.

How it connects

One connection.
Then whatever hurts most.

Everything connects through FHIR, which most modern cloud electronic health records support. Practice Fusion is deployed and running today. Other systems get handled case by case, and you will know on the first call whether yours is straightforward or not.

You do not have to buy six things. Most practices start with the one that is costing them the most and add the rest when there is a reason to.

We operate under a Business Associate Agreement. No protected health information appears in any patient-facing message. Infrastructure is encrypted and BAA covered, and every action an agent takes is written to an audit log with seven year retention.

Who writes this

One person, and he runs the systems.

Everything published here is written by Ryan Harwood, who builds the integrations, operates the automation and reads every assessment request that comes through the form. There is no content team. When a post says denials cluster by payer, that came from parsing the claim lines, not from a keyword tool.
